homesick

那天我們開過長長的九十英哩海灘到雷英加海角，那幾乎是北島的最北端，左邊是泰斯曼海，右邊是太平洋。

我看著太平洋，想著這裡是距離我的家鄉最近的地方。

太平洋很大，大的伸手難及。「但是我的家鄉就在那邊」我伸長手臂指向前方。

然後我在海角寫了張明信片告訴自己我要回家了。


On that day we drove through the long ninety mile beach till cape reinga, the very close to the northernmost point of the north island, with the tasman sea on the left, and the pacific ocean on the right.

i watched the pacific and and was thinking it's the closest distance from the land to my hometown.

the pacific is huge and beyond my reach. "but my hometown is over there," i stretched my arm and pointed to the place far way.

later i wrote a postcard at the cape to tell myself i am going home.
